Kim Funkhouser

Kim Funkhouser is an experienced finance professional with a strong background in financial operations and management. With over a decade of experience in both public and private sectors, Kim has demonstrated a keen ability to streamline procedures and enhance financial processes, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and compliance.

Prior to joining Project Shema, Kim managed the overall financial operations of a large school district, providing strategic guidance to senior leadership on all financial matters. She oversaw a variety of critical functions, including investment and cashflow management, budget preparation, and the administration of payroll and benefits. Kim also played a key role in managing long-term financial projections and audits.

Before this, Kim served in other educational finance positions, where she was responsible for managing day-to-day operations, implementing investment policies, and ensuring compliance with state and federal reporting requirements.

Kim’s career began in corporate finance, as a financial analyst. This role provided her with a deep understanding of financial modeling, data analysis, and reporting that has proved invaluable in her subsequent educational finance positions.

Kim holds a Master of Business Administration from Elmhurst College and a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from DePaul University.
